Aim of Mountbatten Hampshire's course

This session is to update existing knowledge, and to safely practice and explore the reasons for setting up and managing a patient requiring a syringe driver.

Course Content

• To understand professional accountability
• To know the advantages and disadvantages of the use of a syringe driver
• To become aware of the common medications used
• To recognise the importance of essential conversations and consent
• To know how to identify preferred sites
• To know how to monitor and perform safety checks and trouble shooting
• Inserting / practising Saf – T – Intima
• Use of Body Guard T Pump and McKinley T34

*: There is an expectation of previously completed competence and training. Clinical competency can only be demonstrated in a clinical setting, delegates will need to arrange to be observed in their place of work by someone able to certify competency in that environment.

We understand that sometimes it is necessary to change plans. However, to ensure our costs are covered in the event of cancellation the following charges will apply.

• Cancellations (and requests to transfer bookings to another date) made with at least 8 weeks’ notice will incur a £25 administration fee.

• No refund of course fees (partial or full) will be available where notice to cancel is received within 8 weeks of the course start date, or in the event of non-attendance or partial attendance.
