This summer, whether you are part of team, taking on a challenge with colleagues or flying solo, Mountbatten Hampshire has a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you. Will you soar through the skies over the beautiful Isle of Wight in support of 24/7 end-of-life care, delivered in patients' homes across large parts of Hampshire and in our hospice in Southampton's West End? We are working alongside specialist company Ethel Dares Wing Walking to provide this incredible experience. *Restrictions on numbers and inclement weather may require some changes. We will notify you in advance if this is the case. What can I expect from my Wing Walk with Mountbatten Hampshire? Taking to the skies from Sandown Airport, on the east coast of the beautiful Isle of Wight, you will be safely strapped on, standing on top of a stunning vintage bi-plane. You will be airborne for around eight minutes while you circle above Sandown's airfield, overlooking the English Channel and the south coast. Your friends and family can watch from the ground and thanks to the bright red paint of the Ethel Dares plane, you will be easy to spot. Ready to fly with Mountbatten Hampshire? We dare you! Here's what you need to know about the Mountbatten Hampshire Wing Walk 2025 Click the link above to register for your Wing Walk 2025 challenge for Mountbatten Hampshire. You will pay a £100 deposit to secure your place for the event on 14 August. However, terms and conditions apply. We ask you raise at least £1,000 in sponsorship. Of this, 80 per cent (£800) will need to be raised by 14 August and the remaining 20 per cent will need to be paid in by Friday, 26 September. You will need to arrange travel to the Isle of Wight. Car and pedestrian cross-Solent services run from Southampton, Lymington and Portsmouth, operated by Red Funnel and Wightlink ferries and Hovertravel. Southern Vectis-operated buses connect Cowes, East Cowes, Yarmouth, Ryde, and Fishbourne to Sandown, where the airfield is located and the number eight stops right outside.
