"I had the freedom to tailor the experience to suit me," says Mountbatten Hampshire supporter, Kerry, after completing the London Marathon MyWay 2025 challenge with her friend, Steve.

In April, on the same day as the main London Marathon, the pair took on a flexible version of the iconic race - which allows participants to complete the distance in the way they want, at a place to suit them.

For Kerry and Steve, that meant walking an impressive 28.67 miles, from the home of Portsmouth Football Club, Fratton Park, to Southampton FC's St Mary's Stadium.

They actually went above and beyond the marathon distance and their dedication raised over £1,500 towards funding 24/7 compassionate end-of-life care at your local hospice, Mountbatten Hampshire.

"The TCS London Marathon MyWay was amazing. It meant I had the freedom to tailor the experience to suit me," Kerry said.

"I chose to do it for Mountbatten Hampshire and help raise money for the vital care its staff provide.

"It's such a rewarding way to make a difference.

"I volunteer at the hospice, helping the fundraising team and on the inpatient unit, so I see for myself the real difference the charity makes to our community."
