If you are missing someone this Christmas, honour their memory at Mountbatten Hampshire’s annual Light up a Life event on Sunday, 14 December. This special evening – held at Mountbatten in West End, Southampton – offers a chance to remember and celebrate loved ones who have died. Donate to dedicate a light on Mountbatten’s remembrance tree, and light a candle during a moving outdoor service with festive music and readings. How to donate and dedicate a light during Light up a Life 2025 Click here to donate and dedicate a light to your loved one, this Christmas Teresa Scott, who is remembering her dad, Colin, cared for by Mountbatten’s teams, shared: "Dedicating a light is not just a tribute to dad, but also a way of remembering the incredible nurses and staff who looked after us all." All are welcome, whether or not you have experienced Mountbatten’s care. After the service, guests are invited to enjoy mince pies and warm drinks in the Frances Sheldon Centre, sharing memories and support with others. Names dedicated by midnight on Tuesday, 9 December, will be displayed on-screen during the event. If you are unable to attend, you can still dedicate a light and be part of this meaningful tradition.
