Great South Run for Mountbatten Hampshire on 20 October Click here to take on a challenge in 2026! When you run the Great South Run on October 20, we would love you to raise money for Mountbatten Hampshire at the same time. Whether it's the 10 mile course or the half marathon, running the AJ Bell Great South Run could help us raise vital funds. Starting and finishing on Southsea's glorious seafront, the famous event provides stunning running at every turn, with breath-taking views of the Isle of Wight. It passes iconic landmarks, including Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, HMS Victory and Southsea Castle. It is not just the sights and scenery that attract runners from far and wide. The incredible local support, rocking on-course music zones and post-race celebrations create an unbeatable atmosphere from start to finish. It really is an event experience like no other! Why run the Great South Run for Mountbatten Hampshire? This year, hospices like ours are facing a funding crisis. Our Southampton-based hospice and 24/7 community services reach over 1,600 people across Hampshire in any one day, in Hampshire residents' homes and in our inpatient unit. Mountbatten receives a third of its funding from the NHS. This has not been rising with inflation and our costs are rising. It means community funding and donations are increasingly important.
