A Southampton woman is preparing to fight for Mountbatten Hampshire — literally — while raising vital funds for your local hospice.

Kimberley Ansell is donning her boxing gloves for a bout on 19 July.

It promises to be a fight with a difference, because the audience will be wearing suits and posh frocks at the UWCB event at the District Southampton nightclub, in Above Bar Street.

Kimberley's dad, Paul, was cared for by Mountbatten Hampshire staff and she has chosen this energetic challenge to raise money for the charity, in his memory.

Kimberley said: "If it wasn’t for Mountbatten Hampshire, I don’t know if I’d still be here myself. They were amazing. They took all the stress off us as a family.

"Please share and donate whatever you can. I would love to give them the world and everything they need.

"I don’t have the power to do that, but I can raise as much money for them as I can.

"I know dad would be super-proud. Your baby’s boxing, Dad!"

Kimberley has already smashed her £500 fundraising target and is hoping to raise even more money for Mountbatten Hampshire. Support her by clicking on the link above and donating to her fundraising effort.
