Homepoint House has supported Mountbatten Hampshire for many years and is now in its second year as a Local Business Hero. In 2024 they raised an amazing £619, and in 2025 they surpassed this with an incredible £783.19.

Homepoint House is a development of 51 private independent living apartments in Bitterne run by Sarah Payne, Development Manager for FirstPort. Our residents range in age from 60 to 96.

"The residents at Homepoint House have always been very keen on fundraising but wanted to find a local charity that meant something to them. Most of us have had a family member or friend who have received tremendous support from Mountbatten Hospice at the saddest part of their lives, either within the hospice or with the care at home team, which allowed them to have dignity and comfort in their last days in a lovely environment instead of a sterile feeling hospital ward. On a personal note, a couple of my family members have been inpatients at your amazing unit. It seemed an obvious choice to all of us here to try and give back. I don’t think there is enough awareness that you have to fundraise over two thirds of your running costs and that the other third is never a given. The hospice and all its outreach services are vital for the Southampton community.
