Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire CEO, Becky McGregor is welcoming delegates to the Mountbatten Conference 2026.

She's called it 'a wonderful opportunity to come together.'

Today's conference is sponsored by AW Jeffreys and The Wickets care home.

The 'together' in our conference title is really important for me, said Becky.

She said: People are living longer but not necessarily in good health, and we're still seeing challenges from Covid-19 and demand on an already stretched system.

She added the NHS ten year plan is 'ambitious' and asked if we can shift to that ambition: from acute and hospital settings to the community. 85 per cent of Mountbatten's services are already delivered in the homes of people across Hampshire, Southampton and the Isle of Wight.

Becky has also talked about challenges around diagnoses and sickness.

Becky has talked about a study which has found home-based palliative care is better for people who need care, as well as the cost of care delivery.

"How can we best truly work together? Today is a fantastic opportunity to share and learn from one another, and pause. Welcome and enjoy the day," she said.
